Charmouth Coastwatch Lookout station is officially opened

The National CoastWatch Institute provide a valuable voluntary service watching the coastline and also listening to emergency radio frequencies for distress calls that may not be picked up by the regional emergency services due to their location or the strength of the radio signal.

As expansion of their services in Lyme bay they officially opened the CoastWatch Lookout Station in Charmouth on 10th June. The Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP cut the ribbon to open the station, which is based in an original Napoleonic lookout.
