Lyme Regis Parking problems in 2017

Lyme Regis Parking Problems

Not everyone has to park!

Lyme Regis Parking has always been difficult, however planning issues have left the town with a serious shortage of parking in 2017. The late May bank holiday brought the Lyme Regis Parking to the attention of the national press, as hundreds of frustrated holiday makers were unable to visit the town.

Fortunately, visitors staying in Charmouth can enjoy both Charmouth and Lyme Regis as much of the accommodation has private parking, and where it can not be provided the village car parks are very reasonably priced (Lower Sea Lane £2.00 all day).

The regular X51 and X53 bus services can whisk you into Lyme Regis in under 10 minutes, however, having discovered the unspoilt beauty and tranquility of Charmouth, its local shops, cafes and restaurants; you may decide to stay local!

For a full choice of the accommodation options in Charmouth see our pages for Hotels and B&B, Self Catering, and Holiday Parks.

Another issue hitting the headlines is the shortage of Lyme Regis ATMs (cash machines). Again visitors to Charmouth are well catered for with a cash machine in Charmouth Stores, and free cash withdrawals from the Post Office.

Holidays are for quiet enjoyment, so come and enjoy your valuable time away in the beautiful, quiet, village of Charmouth, and avoid the Lyme Regis parking!
