The 8th Charmouth Christmas Fayre on Friday 1st December promises to be even better than the successful 2016 Fayre, with lots of activities in the village centre shops, carol singing in the church to begin and round off the event and a spectacular fire show by street performer Katy Sea in the village centre.
Most of the village centre shops are providing something special, as are Herringbone, Charmouth Central, Charmouth Church, The White House and The Royal Oak further up the street. There is a great choice of food, including turkey rolls, chilli, curry, cakes and hot dogs plus mince pies of course – no need to cook tonight! Activities include several for children as well as beer & wine tasting and mulled wine. Charmouth Central has artists and photographers while Herringbone and several stalls have terrific handmade ideas for Christmas gifts. There really is something for everyone!
Santa’s Grotto – only £2.50
Santa’s Grotto in Abode will be open from 5 – 6.30pm and all children receive a small gift.
Katy Sea is a spectacular fire artist and her 25 minute show at the top of Lower Sea Lane promises to be breathtaking and starts at 5.30. Check out her video on the Charmouth Events Facebook page. This is the highlight of the evening and not to be missed.
Christmas Fayre raffle
Raffle tickets will be on sale in the village from November 21st. Tickets are 50p each or £2.50 for a book. Charmouth Events Committee have put up the £50 first prize and there are many other prizes which have been donated by local businesses including champagne, a meal for 2, a hamper and a sweet tower.
The Charmouth Events Committee is running the Christmas Fayre for the first time. We raise money for local organisations, 15 of which received donations in October. While you’re enjoying the fun don’t forget to support this event through buying raffle tickets and donating through the yellow collection buckets. Our next event will be New Year’s Eve fireworks at the beach.
