Marine Week Nurdle Hunt!

We are celebrating National Marine Week, so see if you can find all of our nurdles hidden around the Heritage Coast Centre. Each nurdle contains an interesting fact!

What is a nurdle? These are microplastics, which escape into the ocean all around the planet and are swallowed up by wildlife. These plastics can be found on Charmouth beach and look like tiny coloured pellets. Most are less than 2mm and are really hard to spot! The Heritage Coast Centre regularly runs beach cleaning sessions to help try and collect these up, but more always wash in on the next high tides!

So in order to celebrate Marine Week and learn how you can help protect our Oceans, when visiting the Centre today look out for our nurdles each with its own fact! If you would like to hunt for your own nurdles on Charmouth beach, you can speak to a member of staff in the Centre, who can show you some examples and point you in the right direction! Nurdles can be brought to the Centre, where we clean and recycle them.
